Gary Perinar is a third-generation member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. In 1978, he became a member of Carpenters Local Union 174 in Joliet, Illinois where he began his career as a Representative in 1996 and was subsequently elected to roles including President and Treasurer.
After serving 10 years as Second Vice President, in 2018 Perinar was elected Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, now the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council.
Throughout his tenure, Perinar has served as a Trustee and Chairman of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council’s numerous benefit and training funds. He has also held leadership positions as a member of various state and local governing authorities.
Perinar was appointed Second General Vice President of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters in 2024.
