In May 2016, New England Regional Council Sisters participated in their second “Girls In Trades” event that targeted female graduates of Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs. The Council hosted the event at the Carpenters Training Center in Millbury, MA where 25 CTE graduates heard from tradeswomen, contractors, and project owners.

Showing their support for the graduates were current CTE students, alumni, parents, and grandparents. Additionally, Job Corps students, pictured in this photo, attended and impressed everyone with their success stories.

This event is part of the Council’s overall goal is to build a more comprehensive pipeline between CTE schools and their apprenticeship programs. Their success shows they are on their way to achieving this goal.
